It's the first Dyer's book I read. I am delighted. One of the best books I read in ten years.
This is one book I had to stop reading. Dr. I followed his recommendation and started reading the last chapter of the book - a basic narrative of people who are interconnected to the "Source." I bought the book because the doctor actually did have good things say. Dr. Get my drift. The reason I had to drop this book is because my mind actually went numb reading the obvious repeat language - those who are connected to the "Source" or, "connector people" over and over and over again.
Clearly that can apply to any of the three major monotheistic religions.
This is a metaphysical primer.
He does use the phrase "divine Source." The "Connector" people don't get angry, jealous, egotistical they now exactly how to live life; they have everything they need and so on.
Dyer's "Intentions" are good - I believe that.
Dyer does mention God but not from his perspective.
I'm not sure if I ever met a person who lives their life with as a high degree outlined in this book.
The "Source," well that's a highly blanket and speculative term.
If there is an absolute good "Source" providing all our needs than there's an potent adversary, the evil "Source" that people tap into to get what they want and win all the time.
It's a rather small book for a rather complex world and not recommended for teenagers.
This is without a doubt the most boring piece of tripe I have ever read. Wake up Wayne. Even if I misunderstand his "intention" how is it that so many people in the world are unable to tap into this and create a life free of disease, or hunger, or abuse.
For one, Dyer rehashes stuff from previous books over, and over, and over.I figure he just wants to keep making bucks by trying to convince everyone he is evolved. In his first book, "your erroneous zones" he at least put forth the ideas that actually represent who he is: someone who wants what he wants. The title "The power of intention" should be changed to "the power of my ego".
I liked Dyer better before he became evolved. Secondly, the Power of Intention as he describes it sounds very much like positive thinking vs. power of the mind to create reality.
I found that book more useful because it encouraged us to ditch useless thought patterns that hold us back. This psudo-religious stuff you're into now is an act.
I read this book during the last year of my Ph.D. and wrote my dissertation. This book changes my perception of the world and incredibly brought me to the finish line of the program. It's the power of a mysterious force.
I had never been introduced to Dr. to give you an indicator I have listened to this 8 times over the last 3 months. and I was not accustomed to his method of delivery.
I tend to listen to material like this all the time, especially at the gym.So my initial reaction to this was, "Oh man, what kind of hoaky-fanoki who-do voodoo did I pick up".I thought this primarily because of the delivery of the work. The material in this work is actionable. Dyer before I picked this up.
He is very soft spoken and generally I am not interested in listening to someone timid for any length of time.After allowing myself to accept that he might be delivering something I really need, I just gave in and listened intently.And I was really impressed. Dr. Dyer speaks with passion and compassion.
You can use it, and it works.IMHO, overall this message puts a different package on a the concept of the "Law of Attraction".His take on this is fresh and has subtle hints of clarity that are hard to come by.This is great stuff even if you aren't a believer in this "type" of work.I highly recommend it. and have gotten something out of it every time.
